Sebastian Capella is a superb contemporary San Diego artist. He is known by many as a “modern 17th century master”. He was educated classically with lengthy and thorough academic training at the School of Fine Arts in Valencia, Spain, from which many Spanish artists have emerged. He resides in La Jolla and has taught oil painting classes for the last 30 years to a loyal following of students.

He is widely known in the United States and Spain for his portraits, some of which include many local celebrities and families as well as the King and Queen of Spain and other members of the Royal Family. His landscapes and still lifes exhibit his passionate determination to render the visible world in its freshness, its richness, its vitality, and its truth. Capella has won many awards including the first prize in the National Portrait Seminar in Washington, D.C.
